The reality not only mirrors the picture of it in our mind (fear and confidence equally) but even reinforces it - either in a downward or upward spiral. I guess the mechanism is
1. The story we tell ourselves (=interpretation of people's actions)
It's a powerful reminder of how much control we have over our perceptions and actions, and ultimately, how we shape our own reality. Your perspective has given me a lot to think about.
I’m curious, have you found any specific strategies or practices that help you maintain a positive story and break out of negative spirals?
Who told you I found the them? =DDD It's much-much easier to philosophize about it than to implement. :) Sometimes (very rarely so far) I manage to catch the inner voice of hurt ego, defensiveness and accusation of others. Then I try box breathing, remind myself that I'm not a victim, I have ownership over my moods (and my life) and can make an active choice towards positivity.
I totally get what you mean! It's always easier to talk about these things than to actually put them into practice.
Catching that inner voice is such a challenge, but it sounds like you're doing an amazing job with it and found fantastic strategies. It's all about those small steps and making conscious choices. ✨
